Your preferences, categories and images will not be deleted. If you are upgrading from a registered or evaluation version before Image Viewer III, which includes any version number less than 3.0, you MUST delete Image Viewer from your handheld unit before installing Image Viewer III.
Make sure the 'Save images during HotSync' checkbox is checked in the Preferences dialog box. Tap the 'menu' button, then the 'Options' menu item, then the 'Preferences...' menu item. If 'Save images during HotSync' checkbox is not checked, tap the checkbox. Tap 'OK' to close the Preferences dialog box. Perform a HotSync operation to back up the images. Place you handheld device in the HotSync cradle and press the HotSync button. The HotSync operation may take up to several minutes, depending on how many images you have on your handheld device. Delete Image Viewer from your handheld device. Use the Applications Picker to delete Image Viewer from your handheld device. Image Viewer and all images will be deleted. Install Image Viewer III and your backed up Image Viewer databases on you handheld device. Use the Palm Install Tool to install Image Viewer III and you backed up Image Viewer databases. The Image Viewer databases are names 'ImageViewerDB.pdb' and ImageViewerNoteDB.pdb'. They can be found in the 'Backup' folder which is inside the folder with the same name as the user name of your handheld device. The user folder can be found in the folder where the Palm Desktop was installed. The easiest way to find the Image Viewer databases is to use your computer's 'Find' menu item to find 'ImageViewerDB.pdb' and ImageViewerNoteDB.pdb'. Both Image Viewer databases must be installed for Image Viewer to work properly. |
